About
GEMGAS is a geophysical research project taking place in a geothermal site in South Iceland. GEMGAS stands for Geo-Electrical Monitoring of H2S GAS sequestration; the ambition of GEMGAS research is to test and develop a range of geophysical methods that can be applied to the monitoring of underground gas mineralization.

Brief & Objectives
The brief covered an illustrated educational video - to translate the complex research project into clear, accessible visual language for a broader audience, as well as a website - a platform to share ideas and results regarding mapping minerals and monitoring H2S injection with geophysics.
Design solution
The visual identity embraces airy, light and earthy aesthetics. It features a contemporary grotesk typeface and sharp visuals of the pyrite rock, softened with accent colors such as cold light pink and water blue.
The hero image is a revolving 3D animation of a pyrite by Alv Peerz, inviting the viewer to explore the website and the video. The web design aims to offer a pleasant user experience with integrated motion design and clear navigation with all information quickly accessible.
